Abstract

Summary Fifty-nine dogs with lymphosarcoma were treated with a combination chemotherapy protocol consisting of vincristine, l -asparaginase, cyclophosphamide, and methotrexate. Complete remission was achieved in 53 dogs (89.9%); partial response occurred in 4 dogs (6.8%); and minimal response occurred in 2 dogs (3.4%). The median survival time was 219 days. An analysis of factors associated with prognosis revealed that age, sex, and lung involvement were not associated with response to therapy, whereas clinical stage and body weight at time of diagnosis were associated with response to therapy.
