The continuous suture by single layer technique is suitable for all anastomoses in the gastrointestinal tract. Anastomotic dehiscence rate has been examined and amounts 1.7% for anastomoses in the stomach 0.3% in the small intestine and 2.8% in the colon. In comparison with other techniques the anastomosis is safe and easy to learn. Costs and time of surgery can be reduced significantly.
