Prolonged exposure of workmen in the alkaline- accumulator industry to cadmium oxide dust led in many cases to the appearance of protein in the urine As part of a study of the pizoteinuria of cadmium poisoning an acciirate method for the measurement of cadmium in urine was obligatory. This paper describes a sensitive and specific dithizone procedure and presents data on the incidence and degree of proteinuria in relation to cadmium exposure and excretion.
