The annual granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) production capacity in China is around 15 million tons. GBFS powder has been successfully applied as the raw material of cement block, pavement block, and slag cement. Introduced are studies and the application of GBFS in China. The study measures the performance of GBFS and analyzes its effect on fresh concrete and hardened concrete. The result show thatG BFS concrete is characterized by high strength, lower heat hydration and resistance to chemical corrosion.
