SUMMARY Parainfluenza-3 ( pi -3) virus was isolated from nasal washings of 3 of 10 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep ( Ovis canadensis ) at the Sybille Big Game Research Unit near Laramie, Wyo. At the time of sampling, the sheep had been in captivity for 1 month and several had clinical signs of respiratory tract disease. Depression, dyspnea, coughing, high fever, and mucopurulent nasal exudates were common signs. Hemagglutination-inhibition ( hi ) titers to pi -3 virus increased markedly during the confinement period in 9 of the 10 sheep. All 10 eventually died.
