Abstract

(1) Low dose sulforaphane induces the expression of UGT1A, UGT1A1, UGT1A A8, and UGT1A A10 mRNA significantly. These changes are accompanied by an increase in UGT1A1 protein and increase in heterocyclic aromatic amine glucuronidation. (2) The induction of the phase II enzyme activity by SFN occurs at the transcriptional level and is regulated by Nrf2.
