The testis of the rat was examinedwith the electron microscope. It wasfound that in adult male rat after admi-nistration with gossypol in low effectivedosage (5mg daily for 4 weeks), themitochondria of the middle piece of thespermatids became dilated during thelate peroid of spermatogenesis. Theresults demonstrated that in rat the mostsensitive elements for gossypol in se-miniferous tubules were spermatids ofmaturation stage.
