The Dehe biotite monzogranite gneiss is intruded in the North Qinling Precambrian metamorphic series in the Qinling orogen and has undergone strong reworking, exhibiting the mineralogical characteristic of typical S-type granite. TIMS and SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating give ages of 964.4±5.2 Ma and 943±18 Ma respectively, which are consistent in the error range. The authors suggest that the 943±18 Ma age represents the age of emplacement of the Dehe biotite monzogranite gneiss in consideration that the SHRIMP age is more representative.
