Abstract

Summary The data presented show that the capacity to transfer immunity to mouse typhoid passively by phagocytic cells harvested from the peritoneal cavity of immune mice is due to the presence of cell‐bound antibody. This antibody, which may be fluted from the “immune” cells, has been shown to be a 19S macroglobulin. The pertinence of these observations iu relation to the concept of cellular immunity is discussed.
