Research progress in TEM forward modeling and inversion calculation

Abstract

We give a general review of recent research progress about the Transient Electromagnetic Method(TEM) and instrument.The achievement of TEM forward modeling and inversion have been summarized.At present,the forward numerical calculation methods include 1D digital filter method,3D integral equation method,2D and 3D difference method,2.5D infinite element method.The main 1D inverse methods include float plate method,auto-inverse method,smoking theory,artificial neural network,imaging inversion.We present the feature of every numerical calculation method.The developing direction of forward and inverse studies mainly is the 3D calculation method and the target imaging sysytem.
