In the spring of 1994, a partial iguanodontian skeleton (reconstructed length about 4.5m) was collected from the perley muddy siltstone of the Sangping Formation of Xiaguan Basin, southeastern Henan Province, China. Thousands of dinosaur eggs also have been discovered and collected at thes site. This is the first dinosaur skeleton found in this area. A new genus and species of Iguanodontia was erected and described based on this skeleton in this paper.
