The aerosol properties were measured with an aethalometer and a TEOM1400a (Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance) at the roof of physics building of Perking University (39.99°N,116.31°E) from July to Aug. 2003 and from Nov. 2003 through Jan. 2004.The average BC mass concentrations in summer and winter were 8.80 μg·m~(-3) and 11.4 μg·m~(-3),respectively. During winter two different incision implement of cyclone were installed at the inlet of an aethalometer. BC mass concentration in TSP、PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) were obtained. The results indicated that 90% of BC existed in PM_(10) and 82.6% of BC existed in PM_(2.5) in the winter aerosol. BC in PM_(10) accounted for 5.11% of the PM_(10) mass .
