Abstract

A practical method of calculating energy losses in distribution systems based on RBF network is presented. For representational samples of reflecting the relation between energy losses and characteristic parameter of distribution net, an dynamic clustering algorithm is proposed to cluster all training samples to determine the number of hidden layer nodes of RBF network. This clustering algorithm has the characteristic of speedy learning. Optimization of the number of hidden layer node makes the efficiency of network in use be improved. RBF network is adopted to map complex non- linear relation between energy losses and characteristic parameter of distribution net, the trend of energy losses varying with distribution net structure and operation parameters is learnt accurately. The distribution net with 68 lines is used as an example. The simulation results have verified that the method presented has the advantages of simple model, speedy learning and high precision.
