Application of hydraulic flushing technology in severe outburst coal

Abstract

The characteristics of various measures to prevent coal and gas outburst was analyzed. A new measure, called hydraulic flushing, was described and studied in detail, and the mechanism of hydraulic flushing was put forward and analyzed. The in-situ experimental results showed that, while driving roadways with severe outburst proneness, not only the stress surrounding the strata but also the gas in coal seam was released efficiently and thoroughly after the new measure was taken, and thus the resistance to coal and gas outbursts was increased dramatically. The measure has a potential effect to prevent and control coal and gas outbursts while conducting roadway excavation, and the roadway driving speed was increased by 2-3 times. 8 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab.
