Cruise Tourism Industry in China:Present Situation of Studies and Prospect

Abstract

Cruise line industry has become fastest growing trade in modern tourism industry with an annual growing rate of about 8% in recent years.It has been regarded as industry floating on golden waterway.However,cruise line industry in China has not aroused enough concern among academic circle.There are very limited literature related to cruise tourism both at home and abroad.With the preferential policy of international cruise market,cruise tourism industry in China has witnessed robust development and has become a new field of China's economic growth.The paper summarizes the problems and study results based on available literature.We firstly introduce the current situation of development related to cruise hire industry both at home and abroad and then discuss the study results by Chinese scholars from the perspectives of macroscopic examination and microscopic analysis.Finally,future study orientation is put forward from the perspectives of industrial cluster,stakeholders and consumers.
