Abstract

Based on the understanding that northeastern China and its adjacent regions belong to a stable block(i.e.the Jiamusi-Mongolia Block)during late Paleozoic, two depositional belts of the Upper Paleozoic strata were recognized on the north and south margins of the Jiamusi-Mongolia Block in northeastern China by the analysis of stratigraphic distribution.Late Paleozoic strata in northeastern China are composed of two sets of continental margin deposits, corresponding to the north margin and south margin of the Jiamusi-Mongolia Block. Thus, from the stratigraphic provincialism veiwpoint, two stratigraphic regions,i.e.the Hsingan Stratigraphic Region and the Inner Mongolia Grassland-Songhuajiang Stratigraphic Region, can be recognized for the whole Jiamusi-Mongolia Stratigraphic Realm. Finally,a new chart of the Upper Paleozoic stratigraphic correlation in Northeast China is presented here.
