MicroRNA(miRNA) is species of small noncoding single-stranded RNA with the length of some 22 nucleotides, which regulates a series of biological processes of cells, including cell proliferation, differentiation and metabolism, and also plays an important role in the pathogenesis, progression, metastasis and prognosis of tumors.Ovarian cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the female reproductive system, which defies early diagnosis and has a poor prognosis.A lot of studies have shown that miRNA is closely related to ovarian cancer. Our analysis of miRNA expression profiling revealed some up-or down-regulated miRNAs in ovarian cancer patients. This review focuses on the recent findings on miRNA in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of ovarian cancer.
