Research on Performance Improvement of Expansive Concrete with Internal Curing Agent SAP and Its Action Mechanism

The effect of SAP(super absorbent polymer) on macro-properties of expansive concrete including mechanical properties,deformation properties,shrinkage cracking resistance and durability was investigated. MIP,SEM and XRD tests were conducted in order to study curing mechanism of SAP.The results show that SAP can significantly improve the early expansion,restrict expansion and reduce autogenous shrinkage,and it also has no adverse effect on the strength and permeability,it can be concluded that SAP can accelerate ettringite formation,improve the cement hydration and change the pore structure of concrete due to water absorption and release of SAP.
