The research progress in gallium recovery technology from different raw material such as byproducts of aluminum and zinc production and coal ash is reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of various processes are described and the existing problems and improving measures are also indicated. Enhancing research and development on extracting technology of gallium is proposed.
