Abstract

Soil moisture is one of the important factors of climate change, but the lack of soil moisture observations limits related research. Soil moisture data simulated by and surface model can be used as an important complement to observational data, which is widely used in service and research. 226 stations' hourly soil moisture data in 2012 were used. which is provided by National Meteorological Information Center,to compare and evaluate CMA Land Data Assimilation System( CLDAS) and Global Land Data Assimilation System( GLDAS) soil moisture data. The result shows that: 1 all five models can simulate the spatial distribution of soil moisture in China, but from the prospective of bias and correlation coefficient between simulation and observation,CLDAS is better than GLDAS;2 from the prospective of soil moisture simulation in five study areas,CLDAS is the best, which has slight bias in Jianghuai and Xinan area; 3 CLDAS has advantages in soil moisture simulation of China, which means a lot in soil moisture simulation and research.
