Ligninolytic enzymes of the white rot basidiomycetes Phlebia brevispora and Ceriporiopsis subvermispora

The lignin-degrading enzyme systems of the white rot fungi Phlebia brevispora (one strain) and Ceriporiopsis subvermispora (five strains were analysed. Manganes(dependent peroxidase (MnP) and laccase were found in the culturemedia of these fungi. A hydrogen peroxide-producting activity was also found in cultures of P. brevispora. Its substrate specificity is similar to that of glyoxal oxidase (Glox) from Phanerochaete chrysosporium
