PREVIOUS summaries have considered the symptoms of vitamin A excess in children and adults together. Most of them have been published in pediatric journals. Because of the striking uniformity of the major symptoms in adults it seems worth while to analyze them alone even though only 6 cases have previously been reported. Although the symptoms are quite troubling to the patient they are often so mundane that the physician does not readily pursue them to a diagnosis.
