A factor analysis of the responses from a 3-month follow-up questionnaire indicated that evaluation of treatment outcome can be measured by a broad dimension of posttreatment adjustment and by seven relatively independent dimensions of abstinence, interviewer evaluation of improvement, job and social adjustment, self-claimed improvement of the drinking problem, decrease in sociopathy, intrapersonal adjustment and social involvement.
