Diabetes during pregnancy enhanced neuronal death in the hippocampus of rat offspring

Abstract

Our data indicate that diabetes in pregnancy induce the neuronal cell apoptosis in offspring hippocampus. Furthermore, the maternal glycaemia control by insulin treatment in the most cases normalized these effects.
