Abstract

SummaryCross-pollination of cv Manzanillo flowers was found essential in Israel. The cv Uovo de Piccione was the most suitable pollinator for Manzanillo. The addition of Manzanillo stigma tissue to pollen germination media enhanced germination and served as a pollination efficiency indicator. The percentage of normal pollen and its germination were determined for various cultivars. The distance of pollen dispersal in the Eastern Yisre’el Valley was established.
