A polyaniline-supported copper(I) composite has been synthesized using a one-step chemical synthesis route under ambient conditions. The composite material was characterized using microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. The Cu(I)–polymer composite material was employed as a sensing material for a nonenzymatic glucose sensor. Compared with pure polyaniline, Cu(I)–polyaniline showed improved electrocatalytic activity toward glucose oxidation due to the integration of Cu(I) and that exhibited the enhanced anodic current.
