Abstract

SUMMARY An isolation cabinet system based on the negative-pressure principle described by Horsfall and Bauer, but having special features and refinements, was designed and constructed and is being used for research on infectious diseases of chickens. The system has also been adapted to positive-pressure operation for hatching and rearing disease-free chicks. The cabinets and accessories are described, and the operation of the system is discussed. Construction details are given in U. S. Dept. of Agriculture Publ. ARS 42-161.
