Rank annihilation factor analysis (RAFA) of ultraviolet absorbances of unresolved liquid chromatographic fractions is developed and used to individually quantify components of mixtures. A liquid chromatograph, specially designed for RAFA, is described. The method is applied to mixtures containing ethylbenzene, o-xylene and p-xylene.
