Ginsenoside-Re, -Rf and -Rg2, the saponins of Ginseng root (root of Panax ginseng C. A. MEYER) were isolated. The structures of these saponins were established as being 20S-protopanaxatriol-6-[O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside]-20-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (II), 20S-protopanaxatriol-6-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (III) and 20S-protopanaxatriol-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside-(IV), respectively.
