The purpose of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire–Short Form (TEIQue-SF) developed by Petrides and Furnham (2000, 2001). Participants were 464 university students. Language equivalency was supported by positive correlations between translated forms (English-Turkish) and backtranslated forms (TurkishEnglish). Explanatory Factor Analysis performed for construct validity revealed that the scale is a four-factor measure with 20 items. This four-factor solution was tested with Confirmatory Factor Analysis and the results provided a good fit to the data. The internal consistency score of the TEIQue-SF was .81 and test-retest reliabilty of the total score was .86. These results revealed that this scale is a valid and reliable instrument to use with Turkish university students.
