Serum Bilirubin Level Is Inversely Associated With Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis in Children

Abstract

In children with NAFLD, there is an inverse relation between serum bilirubin levels and the presence of NASH on biopsy. This may be secondary to the antioxidant effect of bilirubin.
