The medium, apparatus, and procedures used in rearing cabbage loopers (Trichoplusia ni (Hübner)) are described. Studies on the biology of diet-reared loopers include information on number of larval instars and duration, measurements of head-capsule width and body length, rates of prepupation, pupation, and adult emergence, and average longevity of the different stages.
