The applicability of direct heating techniques for the measurement of thermal conductivity and the laser flash technique for thermal diffusivity for fine-weave carboncarbon composites was investigated. It was found that these techniques could readily be used for this type of heterogeneous material and very good results were obtained at 300-2500 K. In addition the direct heating methods yielded excellent results for electrical resistivity, hemispherical total emissivity, and linear thermal expansion above 1000 K.
