Seismic lithologic modeling

Abstract

One goal of the seismic method is to derive detailed lithologic information, such as acoustic impedance or interval velocity for thin layers, from seismic reflection data. Aside from the presence of noise in the data, this goal is difficult to attain because reflections are always bandlimited and can interfere with one another.
