Abstract

Graphene-based composites have attracted much attention due to their unique properties derived by the synergetic effect of the components and graphene. We report a general and robust solvothermal process to decorate SnS 2 nanocrystals onto the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets in a single step; the resulted rGO-SnS 2 composites display highly reversible capacities and good Columbic efficiency as anode material of lithium ion battery, much better than those of individual SnS 2 nanocrystals. In addition, the composites are also identified as good visible light-driven degradation catalyst of aqueous methyl orange (MO). This work demonstrates an efficient method to disperse SnS 2 nanocrystals on graphene sheets, which can be applied in the electrode materials in new energy and environmental purification.
