WE recently described the adaptation of the bentonite flocculation technic1 to the demonstration of the reaction of lupus serum with highly polymerized desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The report that follows is a clinical evaluation of this new test, emphasizing studies that indicate its frequent reactivity with serum in patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus and its nonreactivity with the serum of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and a variety of other diseases.Materials and MethodsIn the study one or more serum specimens were obtained from 13 patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus, 12 patients with systemic lupus in remission, 8 patients . . .
