Abstract

The species of trematode discussed in this paper was collected while making host examinations in connection with a course in Helminthology at the University of Michigan Biological Station at Douglas Lake, Michigan. About two hundred individuals of a new species for which a new genus has to be erected were found in the intestine of a large male specimen of Amia calva. I suggest the name Plesiocreadium typicum, nov. g., nov. sp. for this form. The investigation of this material was carried out under the direction of Dr. Henry Baldwin Ward in the laboratories of the University of Illinois.
