Due to several urgent applications such as plasma medicine, atmospheric-pressure nonequilibrium plasma jets (APNP-Js) have attracted lots of attention in the past two decades. Researchers found that APNP-Js could be used in various applications of dentistry. In this paper, first, a brief review on APNP-Js is presented. Second, the details about the application of the APNP-Js in the oral cavity, one of the important practices of dentistry, are described, which include a short description of common oral disease, plasma kill bacteria in planktonic culture, on Petri dish, in simulated root canal, and in teeth root canal. Besides, the safety of APNP-Js in the applications of dentistry is discussed, and the first prototype of plasma for root canal treatment is sketched. Third, the applications of APNP-Js in tooth bleaching and in surface treatment of dental implants are reviewed. Finally, a short conclusion is drawn, and the future of the applications of APNP-Js in dentistry is proposed.
