Medical Complications in Orthodontics

Abstract

Three unrelated cases are described in which complications arose or may have arisen as a result of orthodontic treatment; a swallowed segment of an appliance, an unexplained instance of sarcoid and a patient with chronic juvenile polyarthritis.
