Abstract

As colour plays an important role in the visual recognition of information contained in seismic volumes, we propose that by calculating volumetric curvature along specified orientations and combining the resultant volumes with RGB color blending, structural information in seismic volumes are visually highlighted and can add to the interpretation experience of an interpreter. Similarly, enabling the muting of structures along certain azimuthal directions, information pertaining to development of structure can be qualitatively understood via visual recognition.
