The metabolism of 127mTe as tellurous acid in rats has been studied by gamma-ray counting of the whole body, various tissues, and the excreta. The whole-body retention of tellurium after intraperitoneal injection or gavage may be described by a sum of exponential terms. The variation with time of the tellurium content of the analysed tissues has been examined and shown to fit the whole-body retention curve.
