Surgical Coaching for Individual Performance Improvement

Abstract

In Brief There is increasing recognition that the current approach to continuous professional development in surgery is limited. The concept of coaching in health care has recently been introduced and has the potential to address these limitations. We provide an overview of the salient issues and propose a framework to guide development of surgical coaching interventions.
