Abstract

H eat capacity, e nthalpy, and e ntro py of benzoic acid (C6H sCOOH) arc tabu lated from 00 to 4 10 0 1( , using ex perimen tal hea t capaciti es obtained by means of an adiabatic vacuum-type calorim eter. The heat of fu sion was m eas ured to be 18,000 100 abs j m ole-I. The s tan dard entropy, heat, a nd free energy of formation of be nzoic aci d at 298.16K are calculatcd.
