Keiferia lycopersicella (Walsingham) clearly preferred tomato over 12 other solanaceous plant species for depositing eggs, but some eggs were deposited on all the species tested. Development from egg to was completed on tomato and on 4 of 6 species of Solanum in tests where eggs were transferred to the plants. Development was not completed on the 3 species of Nicotiana or on 3 species of Datura included in the tests.
