Abstract

Nineteen species of scolytids were collected over 2 summers and the seasonal flight period of the 8 most common species determined. Window traps were used to determine the flight elevation of scolytids flying in the stand. A close correlation was found between height of flight and host attack zone for the 12 most common species. Temperature was found to have a strong influence on flight initiation.
