Finite sums of commutators in <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>*</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math> -algebras

Abstract

We prove that for many <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo>*</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math> -algebras, the null space of all finite traces is spanned by finite sums of commutators.
