Demonstrates that depth habitats of different species of pelagic foraminifers can be calculated on the basis of temperature data derived from analysis of oxygen isotope ratios in the calcium carbonate of the shells, and notes the possibility of utilizing such determinations in paleoclimatologic studies based on material from deep-sea sediment cores.
