Pulmonary Aspergillosis Caused by<i>Aspergillus fischeri var. spinosus</i>: Report of a Case and Value of Serologic Studies

Abstract

This paper presents a case of pulmonary aspergillosis caused by Aspergillus fischeri var. spinosus, a rarely encountered organism. Serologic testing using complement fixation, immunodiffusion, and Immunoelectrophoresis showed a high degree of specificity for A. fischeri compared with other Aspergillus species.
