The role of blood lactate clearance as a predictor of mortality in children undergoing surgery for tetralogy of Fallot

Abstract

Lactate clearance in the early postoperative period (6 h) is associated with decreased mortality rate. Patients with higher lactate clearance (>10%) after 6 h have improved outcome compared with those with lower lactate clearance.
