Abstract

Background: Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is a systemic, inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. The combination of muscular weakness and typical skin rash are characteristic features of the disease. The skin lesions can often be very mild pronounced or even absent and therefore the patients may be presented with the diagnosis of indistinct muscle weakness.
